Problem Statement:
The e3 Civic High InvenTeam is inventing a novel product that is discrete and compact to test for “date rape” drugs in beverages. Any type of beverage is susceptible to being spiked. The InvenTeam cites alarming statistics from the American Addiction Centers that 44% of men and 56% of women said in a survey that they have unknowingly had their drinks spiked. Half of these took place while the respondents were in college and 19% happened while in high school. As young women about to enter college, they were horrified, surprised, worried, and apprehensive about going to college. This product will help create a safer environment for youth in social settings that may include nightclubs but also parties and private homes.
