Building our Community of Inventors
Thanks to everyone for making this summer's PD workshop an amazing event!
Summer PD Workshop: Expanding our Invention Education Community by Leaps and Bounds
Lemelson-MIT hosted over 75 educators and administrators from across the world for this year’s summer professional development workshop, The Power & Promise of Invention Education. Attendees experienced hands-on and minds-on programming lead by expert speakers, educators, and colleagues who shared activities and techniques that enable students from all walks of life to develop confidence in their ability to engage in STEM and invention.
One of the most talked about activities was the Invention Process Sprint, led by Invention Education Fellow Doug Scott, where attendees broke into teams and had to come up with a problem and develop a prototype for a technical solution to that problem. On that note, we’d like to give a special shout out to all our Invention Education fellows for their assistance in making this year’s EurekaFest and PD events a success.
