e3 Civic High InvenTeam February
Hello all! February has been a busy month for the e3 Civic High InvenTeam. This month we worked so hard on making sure our Mid-Grant Technical Review was perfect. In the weeks leading up to the event, Shania & JoAnna held experiments to test for a positive reaction that would activate our technical component. They were able to successfully narrow down which chemical they would use to simulate the positive reaction of a spiked drink.
Desiree and Shessly worked very hard to promote our fundraiser with Panda Express to raise money for EurekaFest! They created flyers with the information needed to participate and handed them out to everyone. Shessly also created a flyer to promote our MGTR which JoAnna used to invite our guests. As the communications lead, JoAnna was able to post these informational flyers on our Instagram to gain more buzz for the event.
As the date approached, we worked tirelessly, practicing our presentation, reaching out to the community, and we were so glad to finally showcase what we have been working on to members of our community. It was a great pleasure seeing members from the e3 Board of Directors as well as representatives from the San Diego Central Library we've previously worked with. A representative from SAY San Diego, a local non-profit organization dedicated to creating a difference for children, families, and communities in San Diego was also in attendance at our MGTR and she expressed an interest in partnering with our team in the near future! We received feedback and comments that allowed us to reflect as a group.
Following the Mid-Grant Technical Review, our team was interviewed by an editor from the San Diego Community Newspaper Group! We were so excited as this was one of our first interviews and this was an opportunity to share what we're doing on a larger scale. The thoughtful article was published February 29, 2024 and reflects the dedication we've put into our invention! It is linked below if you all are interested in reading it.
We are so grateful for all of the support we have received and are motivated by it. We can't wait for you all to see what we have in store!
