Mira Loma High School InvenTeam
Smart Collars for Temperature Detection
Their Problem
In the central valley of California, the summers are brutal, with temperatures often reaching 100 ̊F. Heat-susceptible surfaces such as pavement and artificial grass can easily burn the pads on the bottom of dogs’ paws. Owners are almost never in direct contact with the ground that the dog is walking on, so they often do not realize the temperature difference between the ground and the air. The Mira Loma High School InvenTeam aims to create a device to help dog owners keep their pets safe.
