February and March Update

The months of February and March marked a major milestone for the Mira Loma HS InvenTeam. On February 28th, the team held a Mid-Grant Technical Review which had over 50 guests, consisting of college professors, Lemeleson-MIT administrators, staff members, high school students, and local community members in attendance.

Mid-Grant Technical Review

During the beginning Mid-Grant Technical Review, we led a 20-minute presentation where we introduced the problem statement, background research, and our solution to help alleviate the problem. Soon after that, we let the audience members walk around the room where they were able to view and ask questions at our communications, finance, software, and hardware booths.

We are super grateful to have had several distinguished guests in our audiences such as Senate and Congress representatives, Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam representatives, and professors from several surrounding colleges and universities. We were especially thankful to the Senate and Congress for providing us with certificates of recognition.

Additionally, we were able to fund several hundred dollars at MGTR which will be used to help fund our trip to Eurekafest in June.

Good Day Sacramento

On Tuesday, March 7th, we were provided with the opportunity to be interviewed on Good Day Sacramento by Reporter Julia Ortiz with KCRA. We were able to talk about the several accomplishments we had made over the past many months and were able to talk about the Mid-Grant Technical Review that we had hosted.

Other Updates

As the summer is quickly approaching, the team is continuing to work hard to prepare for EuekaFest, where we will be showcasing our device on June 12th-14th at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. We have been using the feedback we received at MGTR to continuously improve upon our background research and device development.
