Information found when monitoring frogs can be an extremely important indicator of the overall health of the wetlands, due to key ecological relationships between these amphibians and the ecosystem. The problem is the only way to monitor the diversity of frogs during a wetlands restoration is by humans sitting in the Everglades during nights and trying to identify different species of frogs by listening for the unique sounds of frogs. This could lead to subjective and ambiguous decisions being made by Everglades officials. With our device, accurate and unbiased decisions can be made by park rangers that will lead to an improved restoration of the Everglades.
