Their Problem
The Pre-Freshman Program in Engineering and Science at Chicago State University InvenTeam, in a fight for social justice, seeks to develop a technological solution to provide fresh food to food deserts in Chicago, a city cited as having the most food deserts in the U.S. Healthy foods are unobtainable in food desert communities due to their cost or location. The lack of access to healthy foods leads to heath disparities and chronic diseases. By providing food to communities without access to fresh vegetables, we seek to reduce the number of illnesses people battle.
