A power wheel vehicle has been chosen to prove our concept. The reason for this choice is because it has the dimensions that can hold the hydroponic system and it can ride on various terrains. Additionally, it can hold up to 130 lbs which is more than enough to hold the watering system and hydroponic system growing collard greens. This power wheel vehicle will be converted to be radio controlled using a RedCat RCR transmitter and receiver. The maximum speed of 5mph has also been transfigured to travel at higher speeds using a speed controller, or ESC. Camera sensors will be placed on top of this vehicle in order to be controlled from a central location. Below is a schematic of the rewiring necessary to make this work where the motors are attached to the back two wheels. Additionally, an attached system with different sensors and an Arduino board will measure the pH, temperature, and electroconductivity of the water in the hydroponics system. These values will be collected and displayed on a digital app or OLED Arduino display board. This information will help with notifying us of when to add more nutrients to the system.
