The Davenport West High School InvenTeam invented a safe, customizable, and cost-effective water filtration system for the 20,000 people living in Muamba, Kenya. In addition to eliminating the bacteria present in the water and decreasing mineral content, the filter increases the flow rate of water compared with the existing filter solution. The invention utilizes the existing tower's height to achieve the desired water pressure without additional power. Additionally, the team has created water testing instructions and educational materials to ensure the solution is viable and sustainable in Muamba.
