Porkroll & Pancake Fundraiser Breakfast

Team working at the fundraiser.

The Manasquan High School Academy of Engineering’s Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam held a successful Porkroll & Pancake Fundraiser Breakfast on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Manasquan Hook & Ladder #1. Our team of 18 students, grades 9-12, worked very hard and did all the advertising, cooking, and cleaning for this event. We served over 115 people a delicious breakfast buffet! The menu consisted of porkroll, pancakes, coffee, tea, and orange juice. We’d like to thank both Manasquan Hook & Ladder #1 and our community for their continued support of our team throughout this invention project.

Our goal was to raise travel funds for Manasquan High School InvenTeam. The team needs to travel to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA, this June to present our invention, the Vital Sign Monitoring System for Firefighters, at MIT's national event, EurekaFest 2019. Our travel will span June 18 – June 22, 2019.

We’re continuing to work hard to create a working prototype of our invention, guided by our local firefighters, and we are proud to represent Manasquan High School on this national stage. We greatly appreciate the community’s support for our Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam. We look forward to sharing our invention journey with you all.

Donations and sponsorships, in any amount, are greatly appreciated and will go a long way in helping us achieve our goals. Deadline for businesses who would like to have their sponsorship advertised by us, at the national MIT event, is May 24, 2019.
