It’s a 'Winter'ful Life!
Warm welcomes back from break from the Incline Village InvenTeam!
We've been hard at work for the past few months researching our problem question and looking into warning systems for roof failure due to a heavy snow load. As a team, we have been collaborating in order to ensure all our ideas are taken into consideration, and we are incredibly proud and excited to be part of this competition. We are dedicating many hours to ensuring we gather the best information that helps us solve our problem.
With this project, we hope to help our community and communities like it all over the world. Around our lake, Lake Tahoe, we have seen roofs collapsing and tearing down houses with them. Many of our team members have also felt effects of snow load on their house, such as their doors being difficult to open in the winter because the frame is sagging down under the weight or windows in their house cracking due to the pressure. In our town, we also have many individuals who have vacation homes here or split their time between the seasons. When they go out of town, we want them to have peace of mind about their home and roof. Our goal is to ensure the safety of people and houses around and in our community, and we are thrilled to have the support of the Lemelson-MIT Program.
Our community has also been supporting us, and we were recently featured in some of our local news stations and newspapers. Make sure you check them out to learn even more about our team!
