February Already?

The months seem to be getting faster and faster, and our progress hasn’t slowed! For us, February revolved around our Mid-Grant Technical Review, which we had halfway through the month. 60 people attended, including our school’s principal, our town’s Fire Chief and other officials from the Amherst Fire Department, our Town Manager, and our local representative in our state congress! We had an amazing MGTR full of informative feedback, overwhelming support, and wood-fired pizza, and we’re thankful to everyone who attended!

For our Communication team, February was almost entirely MGTR-focused. From preparing invitations, spreading the word, and setting up video live streams, they worked to ensure that we had as many people in attendance as possible. With the MGTR over, our Comms team sprung into action implementing suggestions they got during the event and engaging with community members. Since the event, they’ve set up a Linktree page to act as a portal to any important web pages related to our team.

Our Technical team has been reinvigorated this month, taking suggestions received at the MGTR and applying them to our project. The Software team has been meeting with software engineers and app developers, both in our area and nationally in the field of Search and Rescue, to research and brainstorm the best way to move forward. Meanwhile, the Hardware team has been kept busy building new prototypes, preparing circuit boards, and researching new technologies to implement.

Closing out this month, our Financial and Admin teams are moving towards reaching out to local businesses to support the team and meeting with our local Business Improvement District to come up with better fundraising strategies. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the team thus far, either by donating to our GoFundMe, following our Instagram page, or offering their advice and insight to the team. We look forward to the progress that we’ll make in March, and we’ll see you next month!

Go team!
