For the East Central High School Inventeam, April was a month full of fundraising and organizing. "To Do" lists have been our best friends, and we have had many ideas pertaining to fundraising for our travel funds, as well as amongst other things. Our team has also been focusing on designing a display for the showcase at MIT.

During the month of May, our team intends on bagging groceries at our local grocer. This is one of the many fundraising ideas we have come up with, including: selling chicks, washing cars, and selling wristbands. So far, our fundraising team has been successful with presenting our GoFundMe to the public community, and spreading the word about the raising money. We have created QR codes as well with making links and copying them onto paper. Flyers are up all around our school and community.

Concerning the display of our set-up at MIT, we wanted to create a fun space that is both inviting, and pleasing to the eye. We have also been focusing on creating display posters with informational graphics. These posters will have facts about our shelter and wildfires. In this display, we will include both of our shelters, practice and prototypes. We plan on bringing our practice prototype so that the public can try out our shelter and actually go inside of it. This would allow them to get a hands-on experience with our invention!

This is a picture of our actual prototype, though it is not the full scale size. This is a picture of team member AnnElise Kuy heading inside of our practice shelter during our MGTR

A big thanks to everyone who is reading our monthly updates, and we are very excited for the upcoming showcase!
