Meeting #11 - Prototyping Progress 🛠️

Meeting Highlights:

The 1st design group delved into refining their design, where they…

  • Explored improvements to the design
  • Reviewed Servo & DC motors to pick the perfect parts for their design 
  • Worked on specifications for the miniature prototype, including sensors and batteries 

 

🚧 Updates:

Our 1st design group is preparing to make their miniature prototype and placing an order for the materials needed for a larger one. Big things coming soon!

Meetings #12 & 13 - Design Deliberations & Mid-Grant Musings 🤔

Preparations for the Mid-Grant Technical Review are underway, with our 1st design group unveiling a new design inspired by a lifting chair! 

1/17/24

The 1st design group also collaborated with our mentor, Mr. Gowher, today to discuss some technical aspects of the new design, paving the way for future design revisions.

Meeting #14 - Embracing Expansion & Endorsement 🤝

New Horizons:

🎉 Today, we welcomed our new team member, Jennah, to her first meeting! She is currently focusing on market research. We’re excited to have her here!

  • Jacob crafted an amazing pitch!
  • Amy will be brewing up weekly ads to post on Facebook and Instagram

Jennah and Suhani will be interviewing the target users of our device with the questions Jennah developed at our meeting!

Meeting #15 - Gearing up for the Mid-Grant Technical Review 🚀

🔍 Mission Focus:

The spotlight's on preparing for the Mid-Grant Technical Review! We…

  • Continued to finalize our presentations ⏳
  • Started planning out logistics 📝
  • Began to contact restaurants for catering 🍽️

Bold Ventures:

We are also entering the Skandalaris Business Plan Competition to secure travel funds! 

  • Weiran is applying and writing up the proposal needed for this competition
  • Suhani will be presenting if we win

Design Groups’ Progress:

Both of our design groups also continued to work on their specific designs…

  • The 1st design group: we went over possible design changes with our mentors and finalized the wheel dimensions for the design. We also plan on placing an order for more parts to focus on their design’s electronic aspects and will be finalizing their design in the near future!
  • The 2nd design group: we are finishing up the prototype for our design to bring to the Mid-Grant Technical Review!
