Actions Speak 'Powder' Than Words

Welcome back to Incline Village's Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam update! Today is February 14th, so happy Valentine's Day!

We have been working incredibly hard for the last two weeks on our invention, and we are proud to say we have made fantastic progress. Not only does our primary idea for our invention work, but our secondary option is also up and working great! We have built a wooden platform that is our model of part of a roof. This is how we are currently testing our invention, and it has been working very well so far. Here are some images of our team building the platform; Two Incline Village LMIT Team Members using a circular saw to cut wood for our demonstration roof section.

Of course, we've been sure to utilize this platform to get some crucial data to ensure our product works the best it can. Our technology team has been gathering data from this platform, and all our other teams have been contributing to the data sets in their own ways. Whether it be a member of the sustainability team, Josh, stepping on the beam to represent the weight of snow, our financial team manager, Ellie, writing down the data that is gathered, or our communications leader, Alex, talking to the tech team while data is gathered, we are all contributing to our invention in one way or another!

All in all, our team has made incredible progress on our product, and we are preparing for our upcoming Mid-Grant Technical Review on March 5th at 5pm. We hope to see all of you there!
