Robin Jones

Invention Education Fellow

Robin is a native of Columbia, SC and a graduate of University of South Carolina. She holds an MBA with a Finance emphasis. Previous to teaching, Robin was in the banking industry for approximately 18 years. She currently teaches computer programming and finance at the Richland Two Institute of Innovation (R2i2). She is recognized as a Computer Science Teaching Excellence Award  Regional Winner by the CSTA (Computer Science Teacher Association) and the recipient of the National Center for Women and Information Technology Aspirations in Computing Educator Award for the state of South Carolina. Robin believes in classroom and educational equity and provides her students choice in various authentic projects that highlight and build upon learning. Her enthusiasm for collaborative projects and her admiration for the dedicated staff at R2i2 reflect her belief in the power of education to shape the future. Robin's guiding principle, encapsulated in her favorite quote, "The past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power.” underscores her drive to empower students to seize the opportunities that lie ahead.
