A Senior Engineer in the Physical Oceanography Department at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Paul has been developing and deploying scientific instruments for nearly 40 years. An InvenTeam technical mentor since 2011, he coached the Wallenpaupack (PA) InvenTeam with their wave-powered electric generator which ultimately demonstrated their invention at the White House Science Fair in 2015 and mentored the Northeast High School (FL) InvenTeam that received a US patent for their mosquito agitation device, system, and method in 2021. His STEM outreach has involved marine, terrestrial, and space themed robotics while working as an instructor for MIT’s Beaver Works Summer Institute summer course, Build a CubeSat. An avid amateur astronomer, Paul also conducts the Stellafane teen robotics programs during the annual Springfield Telescope Makers convention. A proven inventor with 7 patents issued, he holds a BSEE from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
