2015-2016

The Riverpoint Academy InvenTeam invented a stove to reduce indoor air pollution and provide access to electricity in rural locations in Uganda. The device includes a thermoelectric generator and a higher-efficiency rocket stove body that uses the same fuel as a traditional indoor cooking fire to reduce indoor air pollution. Each stove costs approximately $100 and is made from robust materials. It will produce enough energy to fully charge two basic cell phones each day.
