Spanish River Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam | Recap, Upcoming Events, and More!
SPANISH RIVER LEMELSON-MIT INVENTEAM DECEMBER 2019 During December, our Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam worked with WPTV Channel 5 News. Reporter Stephanie Susskind featured our invention and asked us various questions about what we hope to do continuing forward. We also met with scientists from Florida International University (FIU) to discuss possible ways in which we could continue creating our prototype in a sustainable and economically efficient way.
JANUARY 2020 First of all, Happy New Year everyone! During January our InvenTeam got back from break and we got to work! We went to the Boca Raton Rotary Club at Rennasaince Hotel in order to raise funds for our project. We also ordered all the materials required for our invention and started contacting hospitals and community members for the chance they could attend our Mid-Grant Review during February. Additionally, we are also in contact with The Palm Beach Post and their reporter Faran Fagen to feature us and let the community know about our invention! We also started working on fundraising ideas and the materials that needed to be bought for our project.
UPCOMING EVENTS In these upcoming weeks we will be hosting our Mid-Grant Review, where we will invite the community and the Lemelson-MIT educators to see the progress we have made with our invention and community outreach. We will also work on educating the community on the dangers of sepsis and the positives behind monitoring the condition. We are in the process of getting our prototype ready, and we cannot wait to show everyone the progress that we have made so far! THANK YOU FOR READING! - BRAYANT POLANCO
