Half of ALL the garbage produced in the U.S. is the cardboard and paper. Our product, now referred to as Green Bricks, could put the wasted cardboard to use. The amount of wood and paper thrown away each year is enough to heat 50 million homes for 20 years! That is over one third of the homes in the United States! Imagine how many trees and how much landfill space would be saved if the homes we were heating were also made of cardboard.

To make one “batch” of our mixture, on average 4 square feet of cardboard makes one 3"x4x"x8"brick. Being that one tree produces roughly 151.6 cardboard boxes and that there are roughly 907.2 bricks used to create a 12'x12' building, it will take six trees to create one building.

This number seems like a lot, except when you think about how many trees we are wasting. By only recycling the Sunday paper, we could save 500,000 trees every week. Furthermore, 544,000 trees could be saved every year if each household used 100% recycled paper towels rather than the typical 70-sheet virgin fiber paper towels. Over 26.5 million trees are being wasted every year just from not recycling these ordinary paper products. We could make homes for 2,650,000 people. That is four times the amount of the homeless population in the U.S.

Moral of the story: RECYCLE
