Since our last post, we have been working on making smaller scale prototypes as proof of concept. These prototypes will serve as ways for our team to experiment with different methods of raising and submerging the cages. Our first prototype included caps made of carbon fiber filament.  In the photo, Conner Norvell is using a Tormach CNC to machine aluminum caps for an iteration of our prototype. The purpose of the material change was to waterproof the caps. This change had a significant impact on the cap's success in keeping water out. Now there are just a few tweaks to make before we move to a full scale prototype!
