On Our Way to ORS - One Resonance Sensors

Current Invents Team visited Dr. Pablo Prado's facility on Thursday the 19th of March.

Dr. Prado was part of the panel for the mid-year grant technical review and offered for the team to come to his facility to show his products, to give the students the sense of the steps needed from idea to product, and to help the team on their project.

Dr. Prado is the co-founder and CEO of One Resonance Sensors (ORS), specializing in developing next-generation Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) instrumentation. Their main product is MobiLab BLS which offers high performance bottled liquid screening of a wide range of containers with rapid and accurate results.

During the tour Dr. Prado introduced Dr. James Chepin, his chief scientist, who provided more insight and shared some options with the team regarding the directions they could take on their electric fence project. He mentioned using devices with batteries that can go into a sleep mode. Pablo Prado then mentioned another important point: knowing what the customers need and want, so their product will actually be used once completed. Another point that struck Current Invents' attention was that sometimes 90% of what is built in a project can end up going to waste, especially during the discovery phase. Their feedback was insightful and will help the team make progress.
