January update from your Gasbusters!

Hey, y’all! We are the Chattahoochee InvenTeam, also known as the Gasbusters!

Happy New Year! We hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. We certainly have been! Despite the holiday season, we have been working hard this month and celebrating the milestones we have reached. We are grateful for everyone who has helped us get to where we are and are excited to see where the new year takes us. Throughout this month, all of us have been working together to reach as many people as we can, spread our mission, and garner as much support as possible for our cause. We have been reaching out to professors from universities such as Georgia Tech, several news outlets, and many charitable organizations. Additionally, our communications team has been working on their social media game. A shout-out goes to their most recent ‘meet the team’ post featuring a Pokémon card theme (special shout-out to Kennedy for this idea). Check out our Instagram to see this creative post and get to know each of us better! We also hit 160 followers this month. We can already smell the pizza party!

We are thrilled to announce that we have received a letter from the Congress of the United States commending us on our progress and congratulating us on our project! We are grateful for Ms. Lucy Mcbath’s support and well wishes. We are also pleased to announce that we have attended several interviews and have been featured in the news! We would like to thank Amber Perry from Appen Media for interviewing us and publishing an article about our grant. We would also like to express our gratitude to our school’s engineering teacher, Mr. Butler, for meeting with our technical team, assisting us in improving our prototype, and lending us a helping hand. We are so grateful for the support we have received from our school and feel fortunate to be a part of such an amazing community. We are also excited to announce that we were fortunate enough to contact a professor at Georgia Tech, Dr. Liu, who has graciously allowed us to use his lab to start building our prototype and test out our ideas. We look forward to visiting the lab, and don’t miss out on our upcoming vlog! We have come a long way from our first interview and are improving with every interview, learning as we go.

Last but not least, we would like to thank everyone who has helped us get to where we are right now. This could not have been achieved without the help from our community, our school, and especially our mentor, Ms. Lee, who has been with us every step of the way. We would also like to thank our invention fellows who guided us during the Internal Tech review. Their advice was invaluable and crucial in helping us get to where we are now and in guiding our next steps. Ms. Lee’s positive energy and passion for this project have helped us tremendously in getting to where we are now.

For the upcoming month, we are excited to continue spreading our mission and preparing for the Mid Grant Review. We are looking forward to working on our new logo and hopefully potential GasBusters merchandise! Make sure to check our Instagram for updates as well as our Linktree, which includes more resources on how you can support us and our mission. Thank you to everyone who has helped us make so much progress this month and to our team members who work so hard. We cannot wait to bring this prototype to life!
