February update from your Gasbusters!

Hello everyone, GasBusters here!

We hope you're all doing well and enjoying the slightly warmer weather – we certainly have been! This month has brought us a wealth of fun and adventures, allowing us to focus on expanding and refining our project: experimenting and building our prototype. We are especially grateful to our local community for their invaluable support, and we eagerly anticipate where their encouragement will lead us.

Throughout this month, our focus has been on reaching a broad audience, spreading our mission, and garnering support for our cause, especially with the Mid-Grant review on the horizon. Our outreach has extended to esteemed professors from organizations such as Georgia Tech, various news outlets, and numerous charitable organizations, which have significantly broadened our network. We are honored to connect with these professors on a personal level and privileged to have been granted a visit to the lab of Dr. Pengfei Liu, a distinguished professor at Georgia Tech. Additionally, our communications team has been hard at work enhancing our social media presence to keep everyone updated on the progress of all the teams. Check out our Instagram for all the updates – your support means a lot to us!

We are excited to announce that we have our Mid-Grant Tech review on February 26th and are eager to unveil our work to several professors, teachers, and community members and receive their feedback. This month, we've dedicated considerable efforts to reaching out to individuals whom we believe would be instrumental at our MGTR. Speaking of connections, we're grateful to have been in contact with several UGA professors and Georgia Tech professors who have played a crucial role in refining our design and improving our product. Our visit to the Georgia Tech lab under the guidance of Dr. Liu has significantly prepared our Build and Technical teams for EurekaFest as well as the Mid-Grant technical review. At his lab, we were also able to make a lot of progress on our invention’s workings and intricacies and expand further on the problems and solutions that our invention should also target. Moreover, in our quest for animal excrement for methane retrieval, two team members visited a horse stable, gaining valuable insights into methane and its impact on agriculture – truly an eye-opening experience! These experiences have truly helped us learn a lot and we are so excited to explore more and learn more as the months progress.

Lastly, we express our deep gratitude to everyone who has played a pivotal role in bringing us to this point. The unwavering support from our community, school, and particularly our mentor, Ms. Lee, has been instrumental in our journey. At every step, Ms. Lee's dedication has fueled our progress. We sincerely thank our local businesses and the broader community for their contributions. We're also indebted to our invention fellows, whose guidance during the Internal Tech review was not only invaluable but essential in shaping our current position and directing our future steps. The positive energy and passion Ms. Lee brings to this project have been a tremendous driving force in propelling us forward.

Looking ahead to the upcoming month, we're enthusiastic about continuing preparations for the Mid-Grant Review and advancing our project! We can't wait to showcase our hard work to even more people and receive feedback and assistance from those who have supported us. Stay tuned to our Instagram for updates, and check our Linktree, for additional resources on how you can support us and stay informed! A sincere thank you to everyone who has contributed to our progress this month and to our dedicated team members who work tirelessly. We're eagerly anticipating bringing this prototype to life!
