This month we have started to make a new prototype. We haven’t stopped working on the first one but we decided that we needed a break so we could come back to it with new ideas. We are calling this new prototype a scissor arm. It sort of works like a cherry picker which extends out and folds nicely back in. We have done research on making this type of arm and figuring out how to power it. We 3d-printed a couple pieces that we are using to make the arm and have connected them with pieces we got from home depot. After putting it together we have discovered that we made the pieces too big and it makes the arm very heavy so our next step will be to make it smaller.

This has been a challenging month to get together in person since there has been a lot of breaks. When we were at school we were able to get work done in the lab but during breaks we have been using our time to reset and get ready to come back to school with new ideas and recharged minds so we can complete our next prototype.
