Completed Pontoon Prototype (not to size)

Our team has worked on perfecting a prototype before trying to make adjustments to the actual oyster cages. As shown in the last blog post, we machined out custom end-caps for our hard plastic tube. Inside the tube, our design includes a "bladder" which is a plastic bag that the water goes into. The purpose of this is to prevent fouling our pontoon. A straw with holes drilled into it goes into the bladder to connect the vacuum with the inside of the bladder. The holes are to ensure the most effective water retrieval. For the prototype that we will unveil at the Mid- Grant Technical Review, we are making two of these tube assemblies to resemble the oyster cage pontoons and connecting them to the bottom of a small scale cage meant to symbolize the actual oyster cage being floated and submerged.
