Alert device for hearing-impaired athletes
Healthcare
The Berlin High School InvenTeam is inventing a device for the deaf and hearing impaired designed to alert the user to incoming traffic when participating in a sporting activity. The device will alert the user to traffic approaching when 6 feet away, on either the left or the right by the use of an ultrasonic sensor designed to trigger a feedback device in the form of a coin style vibrating motor mounted to the end user’s left and right arm respectively. The device itself is mounted by a clip mechanism to the back of the user.
