Young inventors in K-12 from across Massachusetts have been thinking up designs for inventions over the past few weeks as part of the Massachusetts Invention Convention, in collaboration with the Lemelson-MIT Program. The students have made prototypes of inventions that will solve problems they've encountered at home, school or in their community. We will honor these inventive students for all their hard work at a virtual awards ceremony on Saturday, April 24th at 1:00 p.m. ET. The event will be part of the Cambridge Science Festival.

At this event we will announce our Merit Awards, Industry Awards, and reveal the 16 students who will be going on to represent Massachusetts at the National Invention Convention!

The event’s keynote speaker is Dr. Oneeka Williams, a Harvard Medical School Graduate who ranks among the top urologic surgeons in the United States. She is a practicing surgeon at St. Elizabeth Medical Centre in Boston and is an assistant clinical professor of urology at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Williams is also the creator and author of the Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo STEM children’s book series.
