Justin Keenan and Kevin Paroda
Justin Keenan and Kevin Paroda, meeting for the first time as freshman year roommates in the fall of 2013, found their complementary skill sets and problem-solving abilities not only made them compatible in their dorm room, but also made for a great business partnership. These roommates, turned entrepreneurs, founded Mobium Solutions – a company that embodies the maker spirit and focuses on making 3D printers more accessible by creating 3D add-on products.
Justin, from Penn Valley, Penn., is pursuing a dual major in Electrical Engineering and Physics at Penn State University. His passion for academics and entrepreneurship runs parallel to his commitment to mentorship. Justin is the lead on the 60-person Guidance, Navigation, and Control subsystem for the Penn State Lunar Lion team. He is the Treasurer for the IEEE Student Chapter at Penn State and is an assistant coach for the State College Area High School Science Olympiad team.
Kevin, from State College, Penn., is a Biomedical Engineering major and Entrepreneurship minor at Penn State with experience working with nanomaterials and bio 3D printing. Kevin has also been involved in multiple mentorship programs. Kevin’s desire to serve as a positive role model prompted him to volunteer with Little League, as both an umpire and coach, and in the Man-to-Man program where he was able to mentor middle-school-aged boys. According to Kevin, his interaction with these young men was among the most rewarding experiences of his life.
Justin and Kevin remain roommates, now in their sophomore year at Penn State.
