Regions Leading the Way
The three regions were selected after a nationwide search for schools and districts that recognize the power of invention education and are committed to building strong pathways to invention from kindergarten through college. LMIT offers curriculum resources that schools, districts and community colleges can adopt selectively to jump-start their invention education offerings. LMIT will work with participating schools in each region to design, implement, and assess learning experiences that help students apply STEM knowledge to invent solutions to real-world problems.
Northern California
The initial focus will be in three sub-regions: Greater Sacramento, Central Valley, and Sierra, where educators have been working to develop educator and student programs to expand invention education initiatives.
Tennessee
Hamilton County will be adding invention education programming alongside already robust programming from elementary to high school.
Massachusetts and Connecticut
Education leaders are focusing on bringing IvE into the school day and blending it with academics, community engagement, and career exploration.
