We are incredibly grateful for all the opportunities this class has given us. We were able to raise around $175,000 throughout this journey and couldn't be happier. We have gained many learning experiences that we will take for the rest of our lives. During the month of May, we hosted our Engineering Extravaganza, received the $45,000 check from Pacific Gas & Electric, got aired on CBS News, talked to a patent lawyer, and wrapped up building our invention. We truly appreciate the support we have received from everyone and we are extremely excited to attend EurekaFest in a couple of days!

Engineering Extravaganza

We are proud to say that our event, the Engineering Extravaganza, was a success! We were able to raise a lot of money in just one day. Our idea of having an auction has been one of the best yet. This event really showed us how much we are supported by our community and how they also care about our surroundings. On this day, we also received the $45,000 check from PG&E! Additionally, we have appreciation letters going to the people who have donated to us!

Putting It All Together

Our InvenTeam has worked overtime to get our invention all ready for EurekaFest! Time is passing quickly and we have been determined to get the result we want and showcase at the event. Sewing, building with metal and soldering has been our priority throughout May. With the help of relatives and our Electrical Engineering advisors, they have taught us their tips and tricks to get the best seams, metalwork and solders and have a steady hand. We have learned how to hand sew, how to use the sewing machine, and how we can be as precise as possible. Also, our team has been speaking to a patent lawyer to get informed about the steps we need to take in order to obtain a patent. It has been a great help getting to know the details of this process and how much time and patience it takes to get a patent. We hope that in the near future, our invention will become of great use and gets patent-approved! As we have finalized our invention, our vision has come to life.

Getting New Recognition

Some of our InvenTeam members had the amazing opportunity to get interviewed by CBS News! Furthermore, we got aired on the news where they talked about our process as well as our invention overall. We are still in shock that we got recognized by CBS News. This has been an accomplishment and has been a milestone for our team.
