Venture Academy InvenTeam

Problem Statement:

Physical activities that once seemed simple become difficult or even impossible without extra support as people age. The team talked with people in our community who shared that they struggle to stand up from sitting as they have aged. Not being able to stand affects a person’s ability to be independent and can even harm their mental health. The goal of the Venture Academy InvenTeam is to not only help those affected by this loss of mobility, but also to encourage overall muscle and joint health. Our invention will help people retain or even regain the ability to stand up from sitting in a fun and interactive way. 

About the 2025-2026 Lemelson-MIT InvenTeams:

The 2025-2026 Lemelson-MIT InvenTeams were selected by a panel of esteemed judges after several months of researching problems within their community that could be addressed with a technological solution. Teams will continue to learn more about the problems they selected in the first half of the grant year. Technological solutions will be prototyped, tested, and modified in the second half of the grant year. The technological solutions—inventions—will be showcased during EurekaFest in 2026.
