Northampton InvenTeam Testing at Pool
On Tuesday, March 24, 2015, the Northampton High School InvenTeam journeyed to the hot and humid climes of the John F. Kennedy Middle School natatorium in Florence, MA!
Beads of sweat trickled down their faces as the motivated members of InvenTeam screwed, bolted, and ducktaped their invention into reality.
There were and still are two ideas:
- Spring and Cam
- Turning Oarlock
Ultimately, the team must decide to carry one idea into the future! Testing was monumental in aiding that decision.
The Spring and Cam system worked to near perfection in concept, while testing the Turning Oarlock revealed a possibly fatal flaw. The spring and cam system will work to procure more reliable results through the fabrication of improved devices. The turning oarlock cadre will be changing their mechanism in the pursuit of functionality.
In the coming weeks, Northampton High School InvenTeam will continue to make progress in their journey to Cambridge.
