Uganda produces hundreds of tons of plastic waste daily. The most common form of plastic waste disposal in Uganda is burning it, releasing toxins and greenhouse gasses into the air.
This inspired Paige Balcom to found Takataka plastics, a company which recycles these plastics into useful products and eliminating their toxic properties. The machines which create these products are affordable and easy to maintain, providing opportunity for accessibility across the developing world.
