Caroline Laber

Chemical-Biological Engineering

Caroline is a rising sophomore at MIT studying Chemical-Biological Engineering and a member of the MIT Women's Swimming and Diving Team. During her first year, she conducted research focused on developing more sustainable methods for producing materials, an experience that strengthened my passion for using engineering to address real-world challenges. Caroline is particularly interested in biomaterials and medical research, with the goal of advancing technologies that improve health and quality of life. Beyond research, she is passionate about education and the role it plays in empowering future innovators. Caroline enjoys sharing knowledge, mentoring others, and helping make STEM fields more accessible to young learners. Through her education, research, and outreach efforts, she hopes to create meaningful solutions that positively impact peoples’ everyday lives while inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers to pursue innovation, discovery, and lifelong learning.
