The Progression of Teamwork

Our team has had our ups and downs, but this month, we have really learned the importance of teamwork.  Before, each team did not know what one or the other was doing. Now, most members are starting to stay for a few more hours at the end of the day to continue working on the the first prototype. The administration is picking up their work by staying on top of what is happening in each team and for blogging each time the InvenTeam meets up. So far, the  technical team has put it upon themselves to make sure they have everything they need in order to build that prototype, which also meant that they had to set up the school’s 3D printer (which they got frustrated with multiple times). Now that the 3D printer is working, the technical team has experimented with printing different turbines.  They also soldered wires to connect the motor and speed controller. Unfortunately, while trying to test them both out, they each burned up. Later on, we found out that the cause was due to the LiPo which had too high of a voltage. The financial team quickly ordered new motors and the technical team are getting back to work. They are also using SolidWorks to create each of the separate components of the prototype, which will later be used to assemble it.
The communications team is also starting to take matters into their own hands. Since none of us know as much about a vacuum as we would need to to create the prototype, they are trying to get in contact with several different places to have more mentors to guide us with our process. It was not as successful as we would have liked but they are also starting to try to get in contact with people from small businesses in order to increase the chance of having someone teach us how a vacuum works specifically. So far, we are lucky to have gotten in touch with a man at Mr Vacuum Stores. We expect for the prototype to be finished before the mid-technical review.
