During the past year, she volunteered as a mentor for Amphibious Achievement, a non-profit organization in which MIT student-athletes provide weekly one-on-one athletic and academic instruction to under resourced high schoolers in the greater Boston area. Having been a student-athlete for several years, Emily is passionate about sports medicine and opportunities for innovation in the rehabilitation process. Following the completion of her work for the Lemelson program, she will begin research with the Foot and Ankle Research and Innovation Lab (FARIL) associated with Harvard Medical School on the topic of sport-induced stress fractures.
