Adaptive Cup for People with Dysphagia
Healthcare
Salem, Oregon
2018-2019
The McKay High School InvenTeam invented an adaptive flow rate cup for people with dysphagia. One design has two disks which can be rotated to control flow. The other uses a servo-controlled ball valve which can be adjusted via a smartphone app. Both configurations are dishwasher safe and aesthetically pleasing for adults to use as they adjust to and recover from dysphagia.
