Marching Onward!

It’s been another month of steady progress for the ARHS InvenTeam. Our various teams have been working hard and working together all month to further development, fundraising, and news outreach. Teamwork seems to have been a theme this month, as all our teams have had to work together to make progress and get to where we stand now!

Our Technical team has been making amazing progress on our invention, now officially named S.A.R.A.H, or Search and Rescue Assistance Hardware. The Hardware team made moves in transferring our electronics from a flimsy breadboard to a solid and permanent circuit board. While they worked on modeling and ordering the board, the Software team made strides in integrating our system into SARTopo, even working with the creator and core developer of the software. Their hard work this month is putting us closer and closer to a working prototype for EurekaFest!

Meanwhile, our Communications team has been busy ensuring that word about our team continues to get spread. This month, in addition to revamping our team's logo and branding, they reached out to a reporter from our local newspaper, the Daily Hampshire Gazette, scheduling an interview and time for taking pictures of the team. Stay tuned for the published article! On top of this, they’ve been hard at work with the Financial team planning and preparing for our first bake sale, a Cinnamon Roll Sale!

On the topic of the Financial team, they spent their month working on fundraising for our EurekaFest trip. They’ve worked with the Director of our local Business Improvement District to figure out fundraising and financial management strategies. With her help, the team received an extremely generous donation from John and Elizabeth Armstrong of Amherst, for which our team is incredibly grateful, beyond words!

Our Admin team has been working with the Tech and Communication teams to start the process of acquiring a provisional patent for our invention. In addition to this, they’ve been hard at work to ensure everyone does all their necessary forms and prep work for EurekaFest, as well as working with the Financial and Communications teams to plan our bake sale.

With the team firing on all cylinders, we’re very excited about the progress we’ll make in April and May. It’s hard to believe we only have two months left of this; time flies when you’re having fun and working hard! We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has donated to our GoFundMe page, and a special thank you to the Armstrongs for their generous donation to the team! We’d also like to thank all of our other donors and anyone else who has helped to support the team over these past few months. Go team!
