Multi-Stage Customizable Water Filtration System

The Davenport West High School InvenTeam will invent a safe, customizable, and cost-effective water filtration system for the 20,000 people living in Muamba, Kenya. The community has an existing water tower with no filtration system. People often become ill because of contaminants present in the water. In addition to purifying and treating bacteria, the filter will have an increased flow rate to ensure everyone can have access to the water. The invention will utilize this existing tower's height to achieve their desired water pressure without additional power. The team will create water testing instructions and educational materials to train local Kenyans to maintain the system. The Davenport West School InvenTeam strives to ensure the solution will be maintainable by locals with safety and efficiency in mind.
