Undergraduate Team Finalist

Three undergraduate students in Biomedical Engineering at Rice University invented the Robotic Assistive Reaching Mechanism (R-ARM). The R-ARM is a safe, low-cost, easy to use, two joint robotic arm that attaches to a wheelchair in order to increase the reach and strength capabilities of users with musculoskeletal disorders. The device ultimately increases users’ independence and overall quality of life. Team members include Nojoomi, Nimish Mittal and Sergio Gonzalez.
