Julia Carlson

Invention Education Administrator K-14

Before joining LMIT, Julia Carlson, Ed.D., was a practicum supervisor for aspiring teachers and school leaders at Boston College. She has served in numerous roles in education. Most recently she was the Vice President of Research Initiatives at Wilson Language Training working on programmatic impact and the use of implementation science for improved strategic outcomes. In addition, she has been an urban assistant superintendent, Chief Academic Officer, elementary and high school principal, and K-12 special education teacher. Carlson served as an education ambassador through Prepare RI in her home state where she authored a playbook for schools and districts involved in turnaround.  Her innovative spirit has shaped drastic improvements to school culture and climate while improving student achievement scores, graduation rates, attendance, and decreased suspension rates. Her work with incarcerated youth in Hawaii sparked a mission to create equitable opportunities for all students to reach their maximum potential.
